Sigenergy battery installation in Perth
Talk Energy installs Sigenergy SigenStor batteries across Perth with in-house SAA-accredited electricians, for new solar-and-battery systems and for adding a battery to existing solar. Every install carries our 20-year workmanship warranty and 48-hour fix-or-replace guarantee.
Why we install SigenStor
- Modular: battery modules stack under one energy controller, so you can start smaller and add capacity later.
- Hybrid inverter built in: the energy controller runs your solar panels and the battery together.
- Blackout backup with Sigenergy’s backup gateway.
- Optional DC EV charging module for compatible electric cars.

What a solar battery costs in Perth
As a rough guide, most Perth homes pay around $9,500–$13,000 for a ~10 kWh battery before rebates in 2026, or about $5,500–$9,000 after the federal Cheaper Home Batteries rebate and the WA Residential Battery Scheme. Larger 13–16 kWh batteries sit around $13,000–$18,000 before rebates. Your price depends on battery size, whether you need a new hybrid inverter and how complex the install is. See our solar and battery prices guide.
Battery rebates
The WA battery rebate pays up to $1,300 for Synergy customers or $3,800 for Horizon Power customers, on top of the federal Cheaper Home Batteries program. The battery must be on your retailer’s Supported Solutions List and you join a Virtual Power Plant.
Adding a battery to your existing solar
Most existing systems can take a battery. Depending on your inverter’s age and condition, the battery is added alongside it or the inverter is replaced with a hybrid one. See solar system upgrades. Get a free, fixed quote or call (08) 6255 5914.

Battery storage in Perth: what the install involves
A home battery stores the solar you generate during the day so you can use it after dark, instead of exporting it at a feed-in rate and buying it back at the retail rate a few hours later. In Perth, where the gap between those two rates is wide, that shift is where the value sits.
A typical installation takes a day. The battery is mounted — wall or floor, indoors or in a shaded, ventilated position outside — then connected through either a hybrid inverter or its own integrated inverter, wired into the switchboard, and commissioned with your monitoring. Every installation is carried out by our own in-house SAA-accredited electricians, not subcontractors, and the business holds WA electrical contractor licence EC15564.
Sizing a battery to your home
The figure that matters is not your daily total. It is how much power you use between sunset and sunrise, because that is the period the battery has to cover. For most Perth households that number is smaller than expected, and oversizing a battery is one of the more expensive mistakes available.
The second question is whether your solar system produces enough surplus to fill it, particularly in winter. A battery that only reaches half charge in July is not doing the job you bought it for. If your panels were sized before storage was on the table, the honest answer is sometimes to add panels at the same time.
The WA Battery Scheme
Western Australia’s battery rebate is significant enough to change which option makes sense, with different amounts for Synergy and Horizon Power customers and interest-free loan provisions alongside it. Eligibility depends on the property, the battery model and the installer, so it is worth confirming before you choose hardware.
We handle the scheme paperwork as part of the installation rather than leaving it with you. The eligibility checklist and application steps sets out the current requirements.
Blackout backup — ask before you assume
Not every battery keeps your house running during an outage, and those that do usually back up selected circuits rather than everything. Whole-home backup needs compatible hardware and additional wiring, and it should be specified at quote stage.
If keeping the fridge, lights and internet running through a summer outage is the main reason you want a battery, say so early — it narrows the hardware choice considerably.
Choosing between batteries
Three specifications decide most of it: usable capacity as opposed to nominal capacity, continuous output in kilowatts, and the warranty expressed in both years and throughput. A ten-year warranty typically also carries a cycle or energy-throughput limit, whichever is reached first.
We compare the batteries Perth homes are actually choosing — capacity, warranty terms and backup behaviour side by side — in our battery comparison guide. If you are buying panels and storage at the same time, our guide to solar and battery packages covers sizing the two as one system.
Common questions
Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?
Usually, and the inverter decides how straightforward it is. A hybrid or battery-ready inverter makes it simple. A standard string inverter generally means adding or replacing hardware, which is why we assess the existing system before quoting.
How long do home batteries last?
Current lithium batteries are generally warranted for ten years, with capacity expected to taper gradually rather than stop. The warranty document, not the brochure, is where the real commitment is written down.
Where does the battery go?
Garages and plant areas are the most common locations. Outdoor installation is possible with shade and ventilation — direct afternoon sun on a battery in a Perth summer shortens its life and reduces its output.
Do you service the battery afterwards?
Yes, on systems we install. The team that installs your battery is the team that services it, covered by our 20-year workmanship warranty and 48-hour fix or replace guarantee.
